Help turn the 96th!
Democratic voters and mid- to high-propensity “swing voters” in House District 96 need to read repeatedly, that Rep. Brad Christ is using his seat to build his own power in Jefferson City and to carry out Donald Trump's agenda, while South County families and kids pay the price:
When Donald Trump called, Brad Christ answered. Trump demanded that Missouri redraw its congressional map in the middle of the decade to protect his hold on Congress. Christ voted yes (HB 1, September 9, 2025). Even the Republican Speaker of the House voted no, and a Missouri court and the US Supreme Court has since blocked the map. This district voted against Trump. Its representative did Trump’s bidding anyway.
He's building a political machine, not representing a district. Christ has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars through his campaign and his own PAC. He has handed that money out to more than 70 House Republicans while he angles for a leadership post. In 2024, the House Republican caucus spent more than $110,000 to keep him in office, and a pro-school-voucher PAC has spent to elect him before.
He put our most vulnerable kids on the chopping block. Christ sponsored HB 2933, which would let St. Louis County school districts pull out of the Special School District. Parents of children with disabilities, and SSD itself, warned this would break apart special needs services that no single district can replace. It could also leave homeowners with a new tax levy.
He voted to send public school dollars to private school vouchers (SB 727, April 18, 2024). A pro-school-voucher PAC helped elect him.
He sided with Ameren over families. Christ voted for the Ameren-backed utility bill that lets companies charge customers now for projects that haven't been built (SB 4, March 13, 2025). Several Republicans voted no, but Christ refused to side with the people over Ameren. Meanwhile, Jefferson City passed nothing in 2026 to keep AI data centers from driving up costs for families.
When voters made a decision he didn't like, he voted to overturn it. Christ voted to repeal the paid sick leave Missourians approved in 2024 (HB 567, March 13, 2025). He told voters he accepted their decision on Amendment 3, then voted to put an abortion ban back on the ballot (HJR 73, April 17, 2025).
He voted to rig the rules so voters can't fight back. Christ voted to make it harder for citizens to pass ballot initiatives (HJR 3, September 9, 2025), on the same day he voted for Trump's gerrymandered map. He also voted for a capital gains tax break that goes mostly to the wealthy (HB 594, May 7, 2025).
These voters need to read repeatedly that Matt Vitale has spent his career fighting for the kids Brad Christ's bill would leave behind. Matt grew up here, graduated from St. John Vianney, and is a public school dad. He started as a blind rehabilitation specialist at the VA and has spent his working life making sure people with disabilities get equal access. Brad Christ answers to Donald Trump and the Jefferson City machine; Matt Vitale will answer to South County. He will protect the Special School District and the families who depend on it, fully fund our public schools, stand up to Ameren on rates, and respect what Missouri voters decide at the ballot box.
